Hey guys can any one tell me the effect of Press Releases in SEO. I have already submitted few press releases in some sites but none of them is allowing any backlink to my webite.
So just let me know two things:
1) advantage of publishing press release having no link back to my website
2) Name of those press releases website that offers link back to my website in body.

Press release are important in getting traffic and back links both. Have you checked the PR sites where you submitted I think they are no follow. Also it is not important that every submissions add in back links. You can submit your PR in other sites.

A press release is NOT for getting backlinks. It SHOULD be used to announce new products.

It is NOT a SEO concern.

Very informative one, but i have a question, what is the difference between press release and article submission? are they just the same? i was just confused with the two. any reply is highly appreciated.

A press release is a short statement intended to inform the public of something
eg:

An article would be a much lengthier write up on the subject.

It's just the socalled "expert" marketers who have muddied the pond!

Neither press releases or articles are ANYTHING to do with optimising. They are BOTH part of marketing.

I think the main purpose of PR is to announce products or news of a company. But also, PR can be used to increase backlinks to a web site. You can consider using pay services which usually allow keyword optimized back links.

Press Releases are for companies wishing to make announcements. So not mush seo value there.

Article submissions are to promote your site content. They normally allow the submitter to link a source for the article. And that is your back link. assuming of course it is dofollow.

I have used press release for its major purpose, but for getting backlinks also, but only from UK paid directories.

Press release is one of the good step in seo because in this you can share your site information to other people through press release submission sites. Press release also provides you link for long time.

PRweb is a great site but, they can be expensive.
