I'm wanting to be able to have site visitors to sign-up for some type of SMS text service whereby I can text update 'news' to them.

I can do this via Twitter & Facebook, but as my demographic are over 45 years age I'm not sure if some would find their processes for this a bit too clunky (and that presumes they already have Twitter & Facebook accounts).
The older end of this demographic is more familiar with email, though they are becoming mobile savvy.

What are other people here doing ?
