Why bother? Just download their toolbar and hard refresh a lot, be more productive to just sit in a cafe picking your nose and looking at the girls going past.

Basically alexa ranking system contains schema on the level of traffic each website receives from the number of people who visit a website with the Alexa toolbar installed.
for better alexa ranking you need to download alexa toolbar and put up an alexa rank widget.Flaunt your url in webmaster forums. Webmasters usually have the toolbar installed. You’ll get webmasters to visit your website and offer useful feedback. It’s also a good way to give back to the community if you have useful articles to share with others.

Basically make sure you have it installed, visit your website every 30mins, and ask your friends to do the same. After a couple days/weeks your alexa rating will improve dramatically.

It not in your hand, Alexa has its own robots and crawl your website with interval and get ranked per his algorithm of ranking.

It's made just automatically by alexa spiders, they crawl websites and they analize the info, the number of users that visit your website, and with an algorithm they make some calculations, and as a result you get the alexa rank.

But mainly is all about traffic, as google bots do.

Well In my opinion Alexa Ranking is not the important reference data for a website. Any how is if unique visitors increased then automatically Alexa rank will be improved. So better try to have good traffic , and for that you can use social media.

you need to work hard on building some quality backlinks which contain your targeted niche and get you links that can be very helpful for your website, building links is not just enough, you need to make sure that you work on building brand as well, as these days no single factor is being considered for increasing Alexa OR Google PR, you need to be perfect from each point.

Hi,

Make sure your website is submitted to Alexa so they can update your details. You may need to add some of there code into your website. Alexa determines ranking by unique visits, so you refreshing your page and having your people visit your website will not help. Once you get your site out there and market it, your alexa rank will begin to increase.

Alexa is a rank given to the website based on some calculations done by their robots and hence also based on some other inputs for the website. You should increase the web presence of your website and make it improve its rankings in search engines and also users too.

If it is just for showing the boss, then boost traffic and get people with the toolbar to click. If the website is the main concern, ignore alexa and focus on the website getting more relevant traffic by offering and promoting interesting posts. The Alexa rank will show improvements as a side effect rather than becoming the main focus.

I can't imagine why you'd get caught up in an Alexa metric, but it's pretty easy to improve.

You should start by forcing users to click "Read more" to display the full post. More page views + lower bounce rate = Alexa boost

yeah i agree, Alexa is just not worth worrying about. It does indeed show roughly how popular a site is, But it isnt the be-all and end-all of everything.

It should come naturally from normal SEO efforts.
