1) Tag your site to the related category so that the visitor can expect what they will find in your website.

Build a good, unique, and informative content.

2) Use an eye-catching headline like “secret” or “shock”. The visitor will curious to know what is inside your website.

3) Put the StumbleUpon integration code to every page in your site but do not stumble all your pages by yourself.

10) Optimize your website loading time. If can, avoid flash since not all browser can support the latest flash version.

The problem with sites like SU and Digg etc are that the users are only "curious" .. This is the problem.

You may get 10000's of hits via them, but almost all of these users will do nothing other than quickly read the article / site then move on.

Yes, stumbleupon is built upon the idea of "drive-by traffic" where people usually don't stay for long and stumble the next site quickly.

Very good points but i think some of them are not applicable or easy. For example #6 and #8 are difficult works and maybe we don't get the result by doing them.

If you do it right, SU, Digg and Reddit can be great sources of traffic.

The content, title and everything needs to be really compelling though otherwise you'll disappear without a trace. Still useful for the backlinks though...

I agree with lynxus about the fact that almost all of those users will do nothing other than having a snapshot of the site or article. But still StumbleUpon is still good enough to give your site a good credit. And also you get a quality backlinks from it because SU have high PR.
