Right! I think he/she should put more time link building to increase the backlinks of his/her site. Also check if there is a broken link on your site, it may also be the reason why your site's backlink just drop rapidly.
Better yet filter your sources and see what are the sites that really helps you have a good backlinks then give much focus to them. while use another tool that will connect your links not just only direct to your site, rather create a blog for you to promote this will be your instrument, for me giving direct link or indirect link would help your site receive a good backlinks, and lessen the spam possibility.

The more spammy links bunch you will have, the more it will fall periodically, because most of the websites from where you get instant backlinks will update their website at certain time to remove unnecessary links and to update their website.

Right. So we must be careful of what sites we are entering and submitting links. If Google find it spam then you got an approve links there, your site is considered as spam too.
