I run a website that is based on health and skin care products. I have been working to generate more traffic from various other sites in addition to search engine. But, I am not getting the expected result. So, now I am thinking of taking help from the owners of the sites related to my industry. I am planning to strike a deal with some of my competitors. You can say that I am building reciprocal links. My rivals are also ready to get linked with my site. Do you think that this will help my site in building quality links? I am eagerly waiting for your response.

Yes reciprocal links are good. But one way links are still better.

Too many 2-way links can hinder SEO. Esp from a google point of view.

Say site 1 hands you x% of its PR, You then gain some PR. But you then hand that back to that site and other sites you link back to.

Thi scan completely bugger up your efforts.
1 way links are better.

Two important facts:

1. Links form quality sites are always good, even when they are reciprocal.

2. Two many two way links can cause red flag on your website in the eyes of search engines.

Linking out doesn't "give back" PR it simply distributes it around.
