Thought for today:- Is SEO the only industry where all the cowboys are Indians?
As per my knowledge I think it will affect in terms of search engine. There are updates by google that google can read pages of website build in flash. But other search engine has a problem with flash website.
ya it will not be good to use flash for promoting ur site one reason is that search engines will not track ur site and other is when a visitor come to ur site and ur flash taking time to open he/she might leave ur site without going furtheeer
Some flash sites take more time to open. Visitor use different browsers and some flash not support all these browser, it will affect your site traffic.
Now google considered flash but other search engines still not helps to promote the flash site.
Flash site is not good for optimization.Google does not like flash page.It is difficult for optimizing.That's why you should be less flash in your page.

Google does NOT "load" the flash file it simply reads the code.
DO NOT assume that how a browser handles flash is how a search engine handles flash.
Opening a swf file in a hex-editor is the same as what the SE Indexer gets.
