I don't recall saying that you don't get good results with a PPC model?
If you are actually selling products or a service then the PPC model can produce a better ROI ( Return on Investment) than the CPM model will.
However if you are simply branding, that is trying to get your company name associated with a product or service, then getting your advert (worded as branding NOT selling) displayed will suffice.
advertising for sales vs advertising for Branding.
When you are advertising for sales the goal is to get targeted traffic to a page that is designed to drive conversions. So you ad HAS to drive clickthroughs.
Advertising for branding is where you want to get your name (company or website) associated with a range of products or services.
You do not need targeted traffic to accomplish this, just getting seen by searchers for a word or phrase will be adequate.
Branding does NOT need people to actually visit your site/page
