So I have quite a few sites I use to link to my main website.
But some of them are quite crappy (not BAD bad just small and not very helpful) so it's not like you can add them to good directories etc.
So how do link to websites like that?

OK, let's try again - what are the means to get links to your more crappy websites.
You know - when you don't need admin approval (web directories) or the ones that won't be deleted because your website might be considered as too spammy (owner of blog you comment on etc)

You don't. That's why "mini-sites" are such an outdated and useless method of spamming SEs

In that case, we need to double our care in classifying sites. Once Google crawled your site at the spammed site then it will considered as spam too.
