I basically want to make a video tutorial with text and audio in the background. I heard you can make a video like this with PowerPoint but I don't have that software. Are there any open source programs I can use to make such a video?

Impress that is part of OpenOffice as the presentation tool.

Format Factory can convert many, many formats to FLV.

Avidemux does AVI editing.


And there are lots of others if you use a search engine.
