Greetings,

I am a designer/coder just started to promote my service. Website is the best medium to showcase my work and generate leads. Started reading more about internet marketing. So please be easy on me if the question seems to be silly.

Is "backlinks to my website" should be consider same as "site linking in" on Alexa?
Alexa shows only 6 websites are linked to me, however i know there are a lot of other websites (few are from my client) are linked to me (means, i have a footnote at their website), apart from my website is featured in many galleries. And When i do backlinks search using some tool it gives a lot of links and websites.

Therefor, I'm bit confused why do Alexa shows only 6 website is linked to me.
