Hello Everyone,

My name is Arthur and I own the website www mediaslayerproductions.com. I started the site March of this year and I only pull in an average of 100 users a day. My website is highly un-used regardless of the amount of content and features I add. I am trying desperately to find a good way to promote my site without using a traffic exchange or rely too heavily on social network sites. I have already submitted my site to all of the search engines and usually the keyword "Media Slayer" gets me in 2nd or 3rd place.

What am I doing wrong? How can I fix this and what should I do to improve my site to yield more quality traffic? Is there a place I should go to get quality advertisement?

Your site took a while to load when i clicke don the link and that is a starting point. The design is lacking as well (I have the same issue). You should seek out help from an SEO company to help beef up the site and increase ranking. The site seems like a good idea and I'm sure their is a market for people out there. Good luck.

i would say you can start doing some PPC advertisement or what i have done to get a lot of good traffic is posting a link to my site on 1000's of different blogs, forum, ect. it give your page a good rank on google it also gives free traffic for ever

Getting good results on searches for "media slayer" is not much use for finding new traffic - that's just people who already know your name. Design needs a bit of fine tuning (and lose the blue background!). Lose the word "Productions" from your logo -- it doesn't look like you produce anything yourselves (I may be wrong, it's difficult to tell) but it's misleading to the caual visitor. Some text on the home page about who you are and what the site is for the uncommitted visitor would be good (and help SEO). Get some ads or lose the "your ad here"s - they just make you look naff.

I went to your site. What is it about? Videos, music, art, relating to what? Whatever that is it is your keyword. Put your url in your keyword anchor text on blogs and forums that are related to your keywords. People will click through to your site and Google will recognize your sites relevance to your keywords and you will get traffic from Google. Two birds with one stone.

Do yourself a complete re-build for your site as I, found nothing really interesting or say it, interest point of the site. What's your aim-ed at? video talks? design sharing? and once my eyes peeled with failing repeated snow-like background. That's bad, you know..

If you're beginner to it, spent a day or two to learn and abundant yerself with thousand stunning website design and design inspirations.

Do the complete link building task to your site. Keyword Research is the first step you need to do for your site. Then Build links.

I am by no means a web pro or anything but I will give it a go since I have had plenty of websites fail and even sold a few good ones for decent price.

First and I mean the first thing I noticed when I checked out your site. I noticed quite a bit of "Bad Words" if you will so I did a quick study of your website and these are my findings.

That is just in the text, html, and php files on your site. I am not the type that cares about cussing. I even cuss a lot. However when I got to a website and see so much of it I get steered away.

I really got lost on the site did not know what I was really looking at most of the time. I think that you have to much going on. You have sound clips, video, articles, and all kinds of other stuff, that just seems to be jumbled together. The way I look at it is try to pic one thing to work with be it videos or art.

Think about these sites you go there to do what?

youtube.com watch video's

Ebay.com Buy and Sell stuff

hotmail.com check email

Get the point? Some of these sites may have other things going on or little side projects but they focus on their main goal.

Next would be better video quality. I am not sure if you make the videos or users upload them. The few that i watched were blotchy, audio out of sync with video, and sound not that great. If you do the video's get a better camera and microphone setup (get away from webcams). Get an actual HD Camcorder, if you have to record them to a disc them put them on your computer.

Site design could be a lot better.

I am not trying to be harsh or hurt your feelings but these are my findings.

If you need any help with design, organization or anything else let me know. I am not a pro by no means but I do not mind putting in some free wrench time.

Hi Arthur,
I looked over your site briefly and as some have said there is a lot there but the site has no focus that will get you any traffic from the search engines.

I went to the Google keyword tool and entered your website and Google only returned 2 keywords and neither are what you want to rank for.

You need to decide what you want the site to rank for and what you want the outcome to be. Do you want a lot of visitors to read your site or do you want to build a email list or do you want to make some money?

Once you figure that out you need to figure out what search terms or keywords or keyword phrases you want to rank for.

Once you determine that you need to focus your site for just a couple of keywords. Your meta keywords should only be very related keywords or phrases and not more than 6. Yout title should not be "Home", it should be about your primary search term or possibly 2 terms separated by the "pipe" or "|" symbol.

In most cases your site or domain name is the least important thing to have in your title, few people will search for your site by name and those that do will find you in the search engines anyway.

As noted by digitaloutlaw you need to clean up the language, all the search engines will demote your rankings if your site is not family friendly.

So figure out who your audience is and what you want your site to be about and what terms you want to be found for and you are on your way.

You must be joking....this is a site built to advertise the appealing nature of foul language and....you wonder why no one is sticking around or buying something???? There is ZERO direction....ZERO valid content and no one with more than a Grade 3 education would even tell anyone that they found it !!

Create a capture page and follow up series with autoresponder messages. People like information. A cpt site is much easier to create. Leave a skypeid or any way to make contact.

Agreed, took too long time for loading, try to compress the content in homepage. And try to use static pages, they are good for seo.

i have been waiting for your website to load and im still waiting. this can be an issue because some people dont have patience (im one of those).

using bad words in your content gives your website a bad name as well.

try changing the content and maybe hosting providers.

The logo is amazing, although I don't much like the name but that's because I'm against all this slaying and related computer games.

Blip dot tv is the provider of your video platform, which is pretty shoddy. You really need to use your own flvs, swfs et al. A video channel should be providing the viewers with viewing from its own resources, not via third parties (for so many reasons, such as ad revenue loss, or data integrity loss, or tracking insufficiencies).

Cool logo, though. Lot of work must have gone into that tv set with the fist. The word "productions" at the end of your name implies that you produce video, particularly with the look and feel you've got. Perhaps you should scrap all the dross and make some videos and put THEM on, but like I said, you need to put the flvs and swfs on your server - there's lots of easy ways to learn that stuff, so you don't need to sit there thinking you can't do it, handing over any potential your site may have to some video sharing site.

Start by finding dofollow blogs and post comments with your website url as signature.

You can also submit to directories.

If you have other websites or blogs build a linking network between all of your sites.
