Hi, thanks for looking and I hope you can help.

I run a bathroom fitting business and have used a company called getyouonline.co.uk .
they designed me a website, and I want to get to the top of search listings, and they suggested that I could have a domain name for each area that I operate, all leading to different websites(clones of the original more or less).
Also it was suggested that I could have websites relating to what is put in search boxes, eg bathroomfitteryork.com .
They will charge me £100 a year for each additional website(inc hosting etc).
Does this seem like a better route than paying for adwords etc.
Sorry i'm not very computer literate, but any help would be greatly appreciated as I need to crack on with this.

it's not a bad idea. If you have a domain and site for local suburbs you will be able to show up in the local map searches which would be beneficial. Also the competition would be relatively low. It could be a good option.

I would recommend putting landing pages on these sites optimized purely for that one keyword. It helps if you are able to buy the exact match keyword.

Concentrate all efforts on one site in terms of backlinking and content creation. I don't see anything wrong with creating a network of local sites to capture local searches.

There is a plumber who does this really well in my area but rather than creating new domains he creates new pages on his site targeting different local suburbs. From what I see it seems to be working well.

actually its not a bad idea. In that case, each products will have an exclusive site.

I'm not sure if I have a definitive answer yet(or even if there is one

), so I will leave it for a day or so then have a good read through the replies and make a decision.

I would think it would be to much extra money and work. If you have multiple websites running you are then going to have to make a more backups or bigger backups(if hosted on same server). Then you will have to pay for multiple domains. Not to mention since you are already paying someone to build your site there is more money out the wallet. Multiple websites means more things to update or change if you ever redo your design. If not linked together just right your customers may miss out on some products they would have otherwise been interested in. You could lose page rankings on main site due to the fact that people may be visiting the other sites more. Basically you could be making a black hole that loses attention on your main site
I think some good SEO and Advertising would be better choice.

Another problem I just thought about is the fact that people might think one of the sites are fake. I was looking at some software the other day and the company has 2 different websites one for the products name and one for the product with a abbreviation of the name i myself did not purchase yet because i do not know which one is the real on or if they both are so contacted the company they emailed me back saying it was both them but at this point i have kind of talked myself out of buying the software as i really didnt need it was just one of want things lol so basically that cost them one sale

I think you can have one website which will help you to trap the online traffic and increase your sales.It's very necessary to have a website for your business these days.

Wow, as the others have said, they're just trying to make extra money off of you. Stick with one site and get that site Search Engine Optimized by a DIFFERENT company than this one that is trying to take advantage of you.

no need to have many domains. you can promote your site on different keywords in different area with the help of SEO.

All responses are very reliable, but as far as my concern for taking it up in search engine listing is you should take off or hire SEO service for making your business very popular and spread to every one..

But it depends on how the client wants to look on his/her site. Sometimes they are close minded that they do not even accept the opinion of others.

You're overspending yourself to something with no payback guarantee..
