Some of the first few words on the lips of every SEO / SEM professional include Facebook, Google and Twitter. Google is talked about by each and every person today, and Facebook has literally become the God of social networking with more than 700+ million active and growing users. Twitter is also the most popular micro blogging portal, with close to 75 million users. Together, Facebook and Twitter bring about a combination, which is demanded by every individual, professional or corporate looking to score in Google result pages and get a lot of word of mouth publicity, through social networks.

Twitter is touted to be taken over by Google or by Facebook. Well, both of them are in low-level talks anyways, and the price in discussion ranges from $8billion to $10 billion. Who do you think would be the right people to take over twitter and why?

I read this a few day's ago but honestly i can't see twitter selling to anyone. If anything, i think twitter are using this for the publicity and to inflate their value. With any kind of interest from Facebook or Google you can guarantee a few billion added onto the value of your company.

Yeah I don't think its very likely either... and twitter is only useful for advertising if you are writing things people want to read. People will click on links to blogs and articles but if you constantly write "visit this site for..." no-one will listen to a word you say.

Yes that is write, am in seo business, google is no doubt is base but what else every client needs is facebook optimization, so i suggest be on facebook, get as much friends as you can and you will be getting offer according to that.

The concept of twitter is entirely different from Google and Facebook. If twitter has to be bought out, I suggest that some other company come in and take it over. If Google were to take control of twitter, it would just use this as a tool to kill Facebook. On the other hand, if Facebook won the bid for twitter, then it would have a monopoly in the social network arena and that isn't exactly good for market growth.

twitter only acts as a lead to your website or webpage.. a short ad that invites your reader to read more.. if you can't come up with a good catch phrase, your advertisement won't be as good

If anyone, it will probably be Google..they have the cash and the reasons to do so.
