1)What are the best ways of optimizing a video
2) how this can prove useful for the seo of a website?

Please suggest me how to get benefit from this activity.

Well, since search engines can only read text, it would help if you provided a transcription of the video. Other than that, it's pretty much just promoting it.

In my opinion there is nothing to do with videos as in SEO only text are being read, so there is no options left for the videos.

1. For video optimization, TITTLES and CONTENTS are the keys, attractive tittle and special contents, always work.
2. Video for SEO, just like Chris said, it's advertising, so it can get you traffic and awareness, no more.

Thanks for your response.I read in an article that meta data of the video are useful in seo to some extent. How you see this?

Not exactly true. you need to immediately check out SpeakerText. It's a service that transcribes your videos so they show up in search engines, thus SEO.

Don't know much about technics, just do strategies and user experience consideration work.

So this question is beyond my knowledge.

But if you handle video code well, try add your website ads in videos, just like videos on youtube and other websites, 10 or 15 seconds not only advertise your websites but also provide buffering time, but note, advertisement should be planted nicely.

It's just another avenue to advertise. If you can get your video uploaded to YouTube, etc. then it just brings in the 'video-watching' audience.
If you're video is a how-to you might find it receiving more traffic than if it's just a promotional one.

Yes, I will agree with you, StoneWilson and Chris.

Video marketing is more for promoting and creating awareness to the community.

At the same time, it also serve as a form of entertaining to the mass market.

Not so much for SEO.

As per my experience, Video promotion can be considered as brand promotion and not related in SEO technique. You can try this technique to visible more through leading video sharing sites.
