And the meta title
HTML Code:
<meta name=title" content="Some words here" />
is not used by any search engine useragent.

On-page is one of the most important part of SEO. The On Page SEO is all about the Keywords and the Tags. Few important factors of On-page SEO are domain, URL, title tag, (h1, h2, h3) headers, meta description, keyword density, length of the text and links, title is one of the most important part of it and it should be 65 character.

Incredible. Just found this invaluable resource for keyword density:
Quote:
For example, let’s say you have 100 words on your website page and your keyword phrase appears 5 times throughout those 100 words. To calculate the keyword density, you simply divide the number of times the keyword appears (5) by the number of words that appear on the page (100). When you divide 5 by 100, you get 0.05. because we want a percentage, we multiply 0.05 x 100 and that gives us 5% in this example.
The general accepted keyword density is between 3% and 5% for your keyword phrase. Below 3% you may not be getting the search engine juice you could be, and above 5% might raise a red flag.
|
So, apparently, according to these experts, the keyword density should be between 3 & 5%....

edgray & chrishurst are so right!
You really need to have quality page content to catch quality search engine traffic.
It's easy to think that you might be able to cram keywords into your meta tags or throw in a few keywords in your text and call it optimizing, but that just raises red flags.
A little extra work in the beginning goes a long way!

On-page optimization is necessary in order to gain Internet visibility, especially on search results. Without setting title and Meta tags, website will have a hard time appearing in search results. On-page optimization starts with a unique website Title and Meta tags (keywords, description, etc.). For setting up effective Meta tags, keyword research is very important.

Wrong!
"On-page" ptimisation is making sure your pages convert the traffic.
Promotion and marketing is what gets your pages "Internet visibility"

How long will it take for it to sink in that what was useful OVER TWELVE YEARS AGO is no longer effective
You all waffle on about how "important it is" to be "up to date with SE changes" YET you continue to post optimisation "facts" that have long since ceased to be of any value whatsoever.
Maybe you should engage common sense mode and stop believing the clueless SEO "expertgurumasters".

Contact page should be added also, many people don't like websites without contact information, I don't why but I believe it's true.

# Good Titles
# Good Content
# Good Structure
You should build the site not for SE but focus your effort for visitors. If you have a user friendly site with information they are looking for, then your battle is won. Great Content act as a magnet for links

This is a prefect answer!
Just one more point to add...
The keywords used must be related to your niche and do not keyword stuff your site.
