Hi Tycoons

I am looking to build a quality email list FAST. I would love to hear about your strategies and the techniques you use to get people to subscribe to your list.

This is the current strategy I am using:

Squeeze page with sole purpose of building a list. In exchange for name and email I give away a free eBook that I wrote personally. The content is great.

I am thinking of split testing a different offer like a free email course. So basically if they submit their email they will receive an email once a week for 10 weeks with a part of the course every week.

What do you guys currently do to build a strong and quality list?

Really the only way to get signup conversions is to actually give users something useful BEFORE asking them to give up their email and agree to recieving more of whatever you offer.

Create something useful, describe it perfectly, put button "download" and tell people to input their emails to get the link..

I agree with this. These days, it is hard to entrust your email to someone you really don't know.

I would suggest you can do a Ads Swap campaign with another person.

Another way to increase your list fast is to do JV Giveaway.

One word caution: Do not buy list from any sites.
Usually this kind of leads are not targeted and non-responsive.
To put this simply, it can be a waste of our money.

I agree, DO NOT buy leads because you don't know if you are getting responsive list.

You must first offer something of value or something interesting to your target market before expecting someone to give you their name and Email address. This could be a free newsletter, access to video recording, discount coupon or promo code...anything that your prospect list would be interested in.

Another important thing to consider is having a good software that will help your email go through the spam filters of various email providers to make sure that your email hits the inbox.

I believe webinars are the FASTEST way to build big email list.Team up with a reputed SEO specialist to produce a webinar training and see the result.

Fast and quality don't really go together.
However as you said: offering something for free ( that will usually cost ) will do the trick.
Also for fast: if you have a site with traffic placing in the sign-ups for the site with traffic ( also receive newsletters from another site ) will get you a list of subscribers.

I built up an average of 1000 a day over a period of a month by running a competition on my website to win an ipad. All they had to do was register and accept the t&c's that I could email them.
You can't get anything for free (of any worth anyway), this cost me the price of an ipad but was well worth it. I would definitely run the competition again because I found that not only did I get registrations, people started blogging and posting the comp page on social networks.

I won't really agree with buying leads..
it will cost you money...and they may not be reactive..
in the end, you'll end up wasting your money over nothing..
it will be better to put a form on your website
