Hello guys,

I just received an email from one of my friend saying that Facebook is going to remove the FBML from 11th March 2011. Is this true? In that case what will happen to the pages that are created on FBML?? And what exactly is iFrame?? Same as FBML? Can we use it just like any other application to customize pages?

I could find that websites like http://www.facebookmaxed.com seems to be offering iframe tutorials and templates but anybody has got a clear idea on iframes?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

No it isn't!

It's simply that no NEW features will be added to FBML from now on.

It seems as though a lot more can be done with iframes. What is interesting is with iframes you can make the "tab" icon on the left hand side a branded one as opposed to the default FBML icons.

But I read on developers.facebook that Facebook is using now iFrames, officially trashing FBML. Not sure though..

FBML still work guys, please read the small lines.
But FB will no longer develop it, but will focus on Iframes

Yeah, you're right.. The pages which are developed in FBML still works. I have a few too.. Seems like it hasn't got any problem till now. But when we create new pages the fbml setup is not working it seems.

But definitely the old style and new iframe strategy varies.

FBML still works. But from now on iFrames will be use for customizing Facebook Page.

I have been using FBML for going in and and designing fan page... who says they have gone, try going for checking the the following links of fan pages made by me using FBML......

Yeah, it still not trashed. But iFrames offer a much more strong platform to customize features and embed more on a facebook page. Like optin forms, videos etc. you can check developers facebook forum for the confirmation of new feature iFrame.

Yeah, now the latest buzz is with their messaging system. Though it has announced earlier this year its yet to be upgraded completely!

With iFrames you can post websites on Facebook pages,earlier, you could only show images on Facebook.Thats a big leap for Social Marketing !!
