Anyone tried buying traffic from mgid?

Hi everyone, its my very post here after 1 year of lurking. I've created my site 10 days ago and now I'm starting to promote it.
Is it a good idea to buy traffic from sites like mgid and 2leep? my site is all a humor site, I'm not selling anything currently, I have google adsense istalled from my older projects, but the site is only 10 days old and I'm getting like 200-300 uniques now, I know I need 50k+ to make some revenue from a humor site.

I wouldn't recommend buying traffic from anyone to be honest, I can't imagine it being of good quality.
Keep promoting, keep link building, get creative and get your name out there. You'll have better results in the long run if you build a good readership rather than try and jump ahead by buying traffic.

Thanks for the reply! And a great advice that I shall follow. But link building is very tiresome and boring, I want it to be natural, i'll try to seo more and bring up good content so people will build the links, not me..

hi! got almost the same problem so google alerts brought me here. i've been searching for this kind of services for a quite long time and found A LOT of interesting information. and now it's my duty to help you make right decision!
i've tried 2leep and mgid as well and... to be honest, mgid seems to fit much better for your needs. 1st - they can give you as much traffic as you need, 2- this traffic is absolutely "clean" (no adult content) 3 - they have great experience of working with humorous sites so it wouldn't be a problem at all to provide you with traffic in no time!
well, I admired them, that's true.. mgid helped me out once and it worth every penny i've spend on it.
and why not 2leep.. maybe they look cooler than mgid, but all those nsfw freaks and almost naked girls on widgets just scared away a good portion of my visitors..
I can tell you more if it's necessary and always glad to help)

Don't buy "traffic". It's a waste of money. Traffic isn't really. Most used scripts to generate fake page impressions. That can get you banned from ad networks like Google Adsense.

I'm sorry, but you are wrong. I don't know for the other traffic exchange systems, but MGID gives you ONLY real visitors, I've checked that for sure! it's more like "exchanging content". how I supposed to earn money from my website?) none of any adequate ad banner services won't pay you if you are generating fake page impressions!
and as for Adsense - here you go:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/...c28704a7&hl=en
unfortunately there is no agreement but
anyway, I've seen several sites with both mgid widgets and adsense..
another deal that many sites and blogs are using traffic exchange from two or even three services, like I used to, and this could be the reason why adsense rejecting your blog.
I understand your fear of being deceived.. but there will always be pitfalls like in any other private business and there there will always be people to help you avoid them. How are you supposed to earn money if you aren't investing?))
to VandaGould
you can try exchanging traffic) it's free anyways..

Besides the points mentioned, please do not just stick to one traffic generation method.
It will be good if you can use a few more strategies to drive traffic to your site.
This is simply to prevent at any point of time, due to changes in their rules or algorithm, our traffic will not be affected.
Hope this helps.

MGID gives you ONLY real visitors
|
Real only in the sense that they aren't robots. The traffic is still useless as the only reason those people are visiting your site is to earn visits from other people to their own sites. Traffic exchange services are just a bunch of people clicking around the web with no interest in what they're clicking on. Yet somehow these people think the others in the system aren't doing the same.
Traffic exchange sites are a complete waste of time. All they do is artificially increase your web stats.

And sadly enough 99% of the time people selling "traffic" and "real hits/visitors" to your website just dump your site onto said traffic exchange.

What you're talking about is a simple (obsolete) traffic exchange
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traffic_exchange
Modern traffic exchange systems (they're called traffic exchange web 2.0) use the whole different model
Look what traffic exchange web 2.0 systems really are
http://www.netchunks.com/generating-...hange-widgets/
And here's what other bloggers say
http://www.techmaish.com/how-mgid-in...traffic-by-55/
http://www.bloggingjunction.com/traf...e-mgid-review/
as you can see, difference is obvious...

Well, if you provide any service online you can buy traffic to increase your sales. But, as if you are not providing any service and running ad sense, it would be better if you concentrate in SEO part and increaser natural traffic through search engine.

Fair point, though I'll still argue the web 2.0 version of traffic exchange is still useless. Of the two articles you linked to one is currently undergoing renovation. The other article though is on a site that hardly seems trustworthy and offers nothing in the way of proof the system is working.
If you look at the actual MGID widget being used none of the 4 "related" articles is related to anything in that post. It's marginally related to other content on the site at best. Highly unlikely it's going to result in quality traffic on either side of the exchange.
There are far better ways to gain traffic.
