What is the relative effect of the second link from one domain? is it considerably less?

Is it worth sponsoring a site at twice the rate to put a link on many pages, rather than just a link on the front page?

How much is a fair price to sponsor a page with PR6, 8000 pages and 35.000 in-links to the front page?

To Search Engine PAGES are independent entities not sites

If the scenario of only one link counts from a domain or hostname, why would people create multiple blogs at blogger.com or wordpress.com etc?

In the search world, as always, commonsense defeats the "experts" and a look at the "evidence" around you proves the "expertmastergurus" to be totally wrong.

And if you are "sponsoring" pages for the SE "value" you will be disappointed in the results.

If you are buying links, which you may try to kid yourself that you are "sponsoring" pages but you won't fool the search engines.

Buy (or sponsor) the link for the TRAFFIC it could send. There are too many "ifs" otherwise.

IF the links count for anything, IF you get rankings for that phrase, IF searchers actually use the phrase, IF searchers clickthrough to your page, IF they take the action you need to convert.

With buying advertising (links) you only have TWO ifs to contend with.
IF they click the link and IF they take the converting action.

First off let me say that I have no experience with buying links. But having links on the same domain does not diminish link juice that much (if at all). It depends more on what value is placed of the particular page.

If the links you have now are on the homepage, and it is a PR 6 link, then links on the interior pages might be PR 3, 2, 1, or 0. These links will be worth less.

Just for an example. If I had links from 1,000 different PR 3 Squidoo pages, then I would be a happy man. I don't think it would hurt much that they're all from Squidoo.

Doesn't that rather contradict the "advice" given here:

If you were Google, would you give points for these?
Seeing how "Sqidoo " is on an IP of 64.225.155.21. ?

No Chris, that's not the same. If I had 1000 links pointing to my site from Squidoo, then they would be links from a different ip address pointing to my domain (which is a different ip address).

What I'm talking about "domains from the same ip pointing to each other" would be if you had all of your domains pointing links back to each other...ex. domain 1 links to domains 2,3,4,5,6,7......domain 2 links to domains 1,3,4,5,6,7... and so on.

But I have read it AND found it to be true on my own.

I have tested this on PR 0 WP blogs. You quote the word "advise" in quotes. In which you are implying.... I took 7 different domains, and linked them all blogroll style in the sidebars. While I didn't notice any benefits for rankings, I was scared to remove them for fear of taking a dive, but I did and...no change whatsoever.

On the other hand, I have seen large boosts to my rankings from many links from the same domain. Can I prove it...No! Anyone interested is just going to have to take my word for it.

But what I said is not contradictory.
