Marketing is selling a product, ergo Internet Marketing is selling a product over the Internet. O.T. Remembered a scene from The Big Bang Theory with your question, when Sheldon sarcastically bashes Penny's lack of wit because of the question she asked.

It's very much fitting in this case too I guess?

Marketing is selling goods both online and offline and internet marketing is purely selling goods on the internet ie website etc

Marketing is simply the process which creates, communicates, delivers the value to the customer, and maintains the relationship with customers, whereas internet marketing is referred to as the marketing (generally promotion) of products or services over the Internet/web.

Marketing and Internet Marketing both the terms are use for selling the products.In case of Internet Marketing we can sell products with the use of websites.

It seems you are totally unaware of the fact or roots of Marketing. The people started marketing their products as hawkers in late 19th Century and Early 20th Century.

Soon the Business Schools of Thought revolutionized the world and resulted in Capitalist and Communist societies. No, wonder Marxism and Capitalism were two different ideologies that affected the world in every way and divided it too. The rise of capitalism gave impetus to novel techniques to help people achieve their financial goals.
After the WWII the technological advancements affected and improved every walk of life.
The Late 20th Century witnessed some remarkable technological advancements and the human capital moved to this newly invented virtual world. Thus we can say, today's "Internet Marketing" is a paid method to reach to the targeted customers and apprise them of our products".

In more simple words "Doing marketing on computer in internet marketing"
and "what is not internet marketing is just marketing".

But Internet Marketing can be part of the "Marketing" on the contrary "Marketing" cannot be part of "Internet Marketing".

If you are still unclear please review Adam Smith's Book "Wealth of Nations" and google theories on online marketing.

When you said marketing, it is kinda too broad. While internet marketing is just a part of marketing itself.

I think that internet marketing is much harder, because you do not have a social interaction with your customers, there is no individual connection and clients do not feel bad to switch their business to someone else. They don't know you or you story, so they only judge by content and choose the most catching site.

It is very easy. If we are talking about Marketing, we mean real business in real world. If we use term Internet Marketing, it means that we sell products with the help of the Internet.
