There are many methods for generating traffic to your Web site; some excellent and some a waste of time and money.

Effective methods include ensuring that your site is found and listed well in natural search results, using Keyword Advertising to generate targeted traffic, obtaining links from related sites or sites whose visitors would be interested in what you offer, putting your Web site address on all printed materials, business cards, and in your email signature, and advertising offline.

An important question to ask before promoting a site is WHY do you want to promote it? Exposure? Hits? Money? If you're after $$$ then promoting is pretty easy. If you're going to make a cool site that doesn't slap you in the face with pop-ups every 10 secs then a different approach is needed. Keep in mind that over promotion can also kill a site. There's a fine balance in there somewhere.

But you are off to a nice start. Keep posting the link around and people will slowly start to trickle in. It will take time and patience, but just waiting won't do anything. You have to be actively patient.
