Or can only the index page get ranked????

the pages that the most people come to on my site
are not the index page.

So, most of the directories I submitted to
asked for the index page.

But my index page isn't the main thing... I did it to cover three different aspects of my site.

As far as I know all your pages get indexed so they could all get different rankings although you usually are only allwoed to submit your domain name to sites so you can specify a single page...

Oh, so here's the question: the key words I submitted have to do with the vitamin B12,
But I have a lot of pages which have totally different key words...
will the search engines pick that up...

Search engine rank pages not sites. optimise every single page on your site for different phrases, use good navigation and every one of your pages stands an equal chance of being ranked for it's own phrase(s). Do it well and you could get 2 indented pages in the one SERP.

Forget about submitting pages/sites to search engines only Yahoo will ever take a look at the submitted URI and then only the once. Submit to directories and the SEs will find your site.

Gosh, I did't realize it worked that way.

I have a million pages... so if the vast majority aren't well defined in terms of titles and key words, then is it all over???? for the vast majority of my page ... or even the whole site????
