I'm not sure if this is the right area for this topic, but here goes.
I'm doing weekly "newsletter" emailings for a non-profit client. I'm still teaching them to write them in such a way that they actually drive readers to the site, but that's not my bigges problem right now.
This is more of an etiquette question:
With the service we use (intellicontact.com), we can see what subscriber is clicking, opening, etc. GREAT tracking features. Now, if the board of the non-profit wants to look at who's clicked through to the signup form for a certain event and compare that list to who's actually signed up and then contact those who have not signed up yet, is it appropriate to let that person know how we know he's gone to the signup form and not taken any further action?
or is that just too Big Brother-y?
thanks in advance for any info you might have to share.
