I would suggest that you try to keep in contact with your affiliates. I previously worked for a large internet retailer. We had an affiliate program with 3,000 affiliates. Ours was a case of the 80 / 20 rule. 80% of our affiliate revenue was generated by 20% of our affiliates. The trick was identifying which ones were actually driving traffic / producing revenue and which were not doing anything at all.
