Hi,

I know I have seen them advertised here before but I can't for the life of me find any now and can't figure out what to google for...

I'm looking for a company that I can pay to post in my forum to help build up the commnuity.

If anyone knows any good ones or can suggest something to google for (I tried the obvious expecting lots of results and only a few good ones were there) please let me know.

Cheers
Simon

In my opinion, the concept of Payment for posting on your forum to make community is not good as once people get habitual for such strategies they would want more. Unless and until you do not drive new offer, they won't post in your forum nor will they start a new thread. Instead, you can introduce such offer for referral program which might be useful for attracting targeted audience.

My trouble is I find very little time to post in there myself. Whenever I am fairly active there is usually more member activity. I would like to get it to a stage where more of the members interact with each other instead of myself. I have the usual trouble that lots of people sign up but as there is nothing interesting they do not post new topics or reply to current ones.

I have just re-launched the site and am about to put some quite expensive magazine adverts out, ideally I want the place to look busy when the new visitors go there. If there is nothing in the forums very few people are likely to join in, however if there are several informative articles people are more likely to. I'm not keen on keeping the service going month after month I just want a quick injection of content to kick start the community.

I am trying to think up other ideas but for the time being I would like to try out one of these companies, or at least learn more. I didn't really post this here to start a debate about the pros can cons of using these services. In an ideal world I would spend all day in there myself posting and drawing traffic but unfortunatly I don't live in that world!

Thanks for your opinion though, I'll take it into account... What would you recommend for building traffic to a forum? and actually getting members to post?

Thanks robsmith for that. I have tried that and although it brings up a lot of results I only managed to find about 3 that I think are any good. I guess 3 companies should be enough to choose from really! I'll have a closer look.

-In my opinion, you could start creative and professional contest on forum.
-I feel you should add your forum to as many free forum directories as you can. It will improve your search engine rankings while receiving more visitors in the mean time.

I think you should try www.PaidPosts.com this provides a cost effective way. Another way is Internet Banner Advertising on another forum or site with the main topic related to your forum to maximize your CTR (click through rate).

Hmm, that last one seem to have a different way of doing it, I'll be looking closer into what they are doing, sounds interesting!

Thanks for that one.

Just to give you an update, I first went to www.forumelves.com who seemed great at first but now seem to have ripped me off, thank god I only spent $20 or so! Then I moved to www.forumbulge.com who seem great and are giving me lots of decent posts for a great price.

It does seem to have prompted other people to post but I think unless it is kept going for quite a while it won't be too effective.

But then again for the price it's not bad, especially the larger packages.

I believe Proboards is a good one to use.
