Hi

right i have been trying really hard to get advertisers on my website i have told lots of people about it

and i have quite good traffic to my website, im not asking for alot to buy the ad space. I even thought of trying that adbright thing but as i live in the uk i havent got a us vat thing. So i tell people about it my way and have even posted in the ad section of this website and others.

BUT no one is intrested am i doing something wrong is my website crap or something, are my costs to high or am i not showing the right web stats.

If i new what it was then i could sort it but no one will even tell me.

I have noticed some people post websites on here and get asked right away.

Please could some one give me some help on this matter and please please tell me were the **** im going wrong

Thank you.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong, it just takes time like anything else. The madkad site is easy to use and will most likely benefit from advertising in a computer forum for advertisers, you will get a larger amount of computer website owners who would want the link to their page. The mkpitstop site is new I take it, I wouldnt think anyone would advertise on a forum site with no forums, I have signed up for it and I will become active in it as it is what I am interested in.

As a side note, we are in the same business so if you want to chat about it sometime let me know.

Your sites are totaly fine.
ID go for a more ligter design, as little profeshonal websitse use black backgrounds.
They have clear, simple, brand websites. I whould never(ever) purchase a computer from any of your sites.
1) It doesent look a proper company
2) Could be a skam site
3) No authitication logos
4) I see no use of secure urls Https://
and the main of all, your not a known, or recomended retailer.

Most small businesses start off, getting known by word of mouth, get some of your family, friends to visit the site. See if they want a computer, if it all goes well for them, they will go "Our @madkid@ sells computers. Ill get his info for you"
... then the recomendations go on and on..

My main suggestion:
Design: Move away frm the dark colors. Move to a minimal color, white background, black text.
Dont to the heading images. Do BOLD text.
Make a more Profeshional (aka boring) logo.
The whole top thing is pixalated, and does not look nice on large resolutions.

Aka.. Change from FUN ---> Borin

(although dont take my advice, if you think otherwise. I take Business and ICT corces.. Just trying to pass on advice from observation.. Do what you think is best)

Remember, the main attractions are the computers. Not the Design. Simplicity

OPS.. That advice was for a computer company not doing so well. Glad you still found it useful, i must have made a coffee or something before replying.

As for advertisers, i doubt their will be many people wanting to advertise on a computer site. This is because "most" advertisers pay for like a "Month" and a computer sales site will not receive as many hits as a entertainment site for example.

You may get a "SPONSOR" such as a computer manufacturer, who wants to promote their business on your site for example, but i doubt this kind of site is what advertisers are looking for.

ADBRITE, is a good way to get advertisers i find, if you want to try this out. Its add your site to a database, and has stats for example, so you stand out to advertiser's if you are doing well

Good Luck finding a advertisers
(I'm having the same problems by the way.. and I'm receiving 800 unique a day, maximum i get is $15 for 30 days.. but i'm not in it for the money, experience i'm after)

Yeh PC World allways sponsor their competitors, they like to fund competitors so they are able to examnd and gain some of their market share. Nope
Dell, basicaly their slogan is "Only avalable online" so, why whould i go to madkad's website to buy a computer (more than likly more expencive than dell) when i can buy a computer off of a reputable reatailer such as Dell. e.t.c. e.t.c. e.t.c. e.t.c.

MadKad, is more likly to get a advert from a random site. Maybe annouther small "competitor" may want to put ads on madkad's website for example. Its very complex as its not a thing that normaly happends.

Here's the bottom line, advertisers will come when there is trust. If they get something in return for their hard earned money, they will stay.

When useing adbrite, i sold one customer a 30day advert for 0.30 .. Each day cost $0.01 .. This allowed stats reports, on clicks ext.. then the "PROPER" advertisers, start putting offers in.

This is an example on adbrite, because they have stats ext.. So if your not useing a service, their is no point in giveing jsut a random guy some space for a low cost.

Carnt beleave it.. how you manage to get a pick up! .. i aint got a pick up yet.. lol

Their is no cost to sell adverts on AdBrite.. But ye its all fine.

Although, i dont see the AdBrite code on your website. To be able to get the stats, and for the people who want to advertise on you. You must have the code on your pages. This will alow stats ext..
