So given im new to all this, I have tried to look around but could not find any, basically there is alot said in the other forums here about the benefits of writing articles for you website and the subsequent submissions to the article sites,

So my question is this, if you are running a forum, and what to submit some sort of article, what do you write about ?

Do you write about what kind o topics are discussed on your website?
Is it like a summary of the current discussions on the website ..

Or do you just write one in general and add a sig.

Cheers

P.S. If this thread should be somewhere else please let me know, i'll move/remove it

Usually when adding an article to article submission sites your site has content etc. If you are a forum and you want to write an article to submit to these sites, I can't really see it helping your site out at all - usually a site most post several articles just to even get noticed...

What you could do is have a section on your forum for like "editors" or "articles" and write about what your forum is mainly about and then you could submit the articles to the site.

Most article directories will reject articles if self-promote.. so if your articles talks about your own forum, most directories won't accept them.

You could write articles on topics which your forum deals in.. that would be a good start.

baluga I think you can write articles for submission either way you yourself suggest. Articles about topics similar to threads on your forum will probably work better since you can use more relevant anchor text in links within the article content. These links might also work best if they link directly to the forum thread.

I don't see any reason though why you can't also write an article on any topic you want and add a link back to the home page of the forum in you signature for the article. I would think as long as the article is a good one and useful to other webmasters it would get accepted.
