I don't know if any of you heard of this site:

http://www.plentyoffish.com

It is pretty much the only website (it's Canadian based), at least a rather popular website that NO one has to pay for apparently, but if you look at some of the links...it's advertisements galore...so somehow this person is making his revenue by just putting up banners and links to other sites.

Is there away I can do the same thing as this person (But American Based instead). And make some money that way, does it take alot of work and involvement as well as upkeep. Is there a way I can keep a create/database like this?

I have a website, Free UK Dating, at www.singlemovielovers.co.uk. I am now getting a steady growth of new members by offering FREE membership to get the site off the ground. It was very difficult at first though, as I was only getting around 1-3 new sign-ups each month.

Keep at it. Once you have enough free members, you can start charging then.

By the way, I am a member of Plenty of Fish. It is very good, but can be annoying when the women don't reply!

plenyoffish recently took in over a million dollars in AdSense for a three month period. I'd say he's doing something right.

That's incredible! How did he manage to make THAT amount of money with Adsense?

The problem with free dating site is that you will allow all kind of scammers (in particular nigerian ones) to message other message members with their scam offers.
I used to own a dating site and it was a headache dealing with all the scammers. So the only way to reduce the scams is to make the dating site with monthly fees. Even that, expect a few scammes who will still join and pay using stolen credit cards.

Dating sites are a big headache!!!!

Consider that when you collect the email addresses of the people who signup for free, than you can make a good amount of money sending them a daily or weekly newsletter with some advertising on it.

What stops you from startign a dating website and running adsense and similar inclome programs?
