It's a new forum that I just created, I need some knowledge in marketing, advertising, affiliating, etc whatever thing that would make my forum grow up :-/ because I'm a newbie in it hehe..

For the search engine, I don't know what phrase that's BEST FIT my forum cuz it's broad :-/ so it's pretty hard to be specified. Today I just tried affiliating on some websites and forums, I don't really know how is it going to work out though.. but I tried it.. I'm marketer newbie >.<

Does anyone have anymore suggestion for Forum Marketing? Thanx a lot for the help, very appreciated!

You can have all of the forum marketing in the world, but first be sure that you have some activity going on before the site sees the light of day/general public. Make sure you have some friends who are interested in the subject get the ball rolling with some posts. Not just short generic posts, but genuinely interesting discussions that can interest newcomers to take part. Otherwise people will just move onto the next more active site.

If you have activity, the most important thing I've found is to find those first half dozen loyal users. As long as they're there and chatting, it may take several months but more and people will slowly join in as it snowballs. Just don't expect it to happen over night... and try not to ride the highs or feel the lows too much. You'll have days where you think "this thing isn't going to work out".. and you'll have days where you'll think "dang, this thing is going to pull in $10,000 per month."

For promotion, try banner exchanges, massaging whatever alliances you have to get links, posting on forums (don't be too direct of course or you'll have the opposite effect) and Google Ads. As long as you have Google ads on your site to bring in a bit of revenue, you shouldn't be afraid to spend a couple hundred dollars to bring those initial people in.

You can always trade posts with other forum moderators. I'll trade posts with you if you like.

One thing I'd strongly suggest is adding some kind of customization to your forum. It's pretty much a base vB install which can turn away visitors due to the lack of originality. If you're not good at vB modifications, something as small as changing the colors should make a big difference.
