What type of traffic can you expect from these exchanges? I looked at 123banners and it appears that they cater to a few "Free I-Pod" type websites. Do these exchanges also serve a more content rich clientel?

I thought I posted this earlier, but maybe not - I like Traffic Swarm for exchanges. www.trafficswarm.com. I'm not sure if it will work for your type of site, but its free- can't hurt to try

Unless they changed the service since I used it, Trafficswarm is really more of a popup/traffic exchange than a banner exchange. You have to display a popup with multiple banners in order to earn credits, right?

I remember it working pretty well as a traffic exchange though; might be worth a try.

It isn't a popup at all. When you want to earn credits, you go to the site. The site displays a series of ads that you can click on to earn credits (and credits are what you need to have your ad displayed). You can choose to view ads only from certain categories and you can choose what categories to display your ads in as well. This helps with targeting some. It's quite different from your normal traffic exchange. You get 1 credit each time you visit the site as well, so I set my browser start pages to the Traffic Swarm homepage. That is enough to keep my ads in rotation.

I'm not a fan of banners, though I do use a couple of them.

Hi,

I've recently started a new project in order to build better banner exchange. Idea is to include some features that most of the regular services does not offer. These include

- goal tracking
- advanced targeting
- better leads by site rank system

It's still very beta, but I'd like to invite other webmasters to try it. Those who join now will get 10000 extra credits and 1:1 ratio - plus hopefully great tool for getting new customers.

Well, I have just started my own banner exchange and everyone is welcome. It's quite "standard" system with 468x60 banners (3 banners allowed), category based, exchange ratio is 3:2 (Display 3 banners, get 2 credits), complete (real-time) statistics, 3,000 free credits just for signing up. You can purchase additional credits using PayPal.

Because my BE is new and I've just started to build up my "customer base", I'm making this offer:
If you register and give me your Webmaster-Talk user name through email I will give you more credits (we can negociate the amount) and I will also listen for your suggestions about my categories (too few or too many?). Ofcourse I will take constructive criticism in here also.
