Can we have AdSense and ANOTHER advertiser?

AND

Are we allowed to sell our OWN banners (like to local businesses) if we already have Google AdSense?

I know, I know: read the google "terms of service". Here's what it says on the subject:
Communications Solely With Google. You agree to direct to Google, and not to any advertiser, any communication regarding any Ad(s) or Link(s) displayed in connection with Your Site(s).

You can have your own static adverts (banners, text links etc) on the same page as Adsense but not competing contextual ads.

well, doing a google search for "define:contextual" yeilds no results.

What do you mean you can have your own "ads", but not competing "contextual ads"?

Contextual adverts are adverts that are targeted to your page content by a third party.

So you couldn't display adsense and yahoo adverts on the same page, But you can have adsense and your own banner ads on your page.

You can use competing contexual ads on the same site, but not on the same page. If you place AdSense on any page then Google has to be the only contextual advertiser on that page, but you could use clicksor or YPN ads on a different page assuming that other page doesn't have AdSense on it.

wow! that's good to know. the last thing I want is for Google to drop me.

so, if the page has a google ad on it, i had better not think of putting another advertiser on it, too!

Here are the program policies for using AdSense. The information is under the heading Competitive Ads and Services.

Well, according to me adsense is really tough to reach the earning point. Its really frustuating. Everyone is selecting adsense just bcoz its from google. Thats all. Their pay is very less, though they pay gaurantee.

I use clicksor. They give much more than adsense and minimum payout is jus around $50. They even pay by paypal. Within two days, my sie earns upto $3. Thats enough fo me and much more better than adsense who are having lakhs of rules and regulations.

This is not a spam. You can google it to kno their reputation and features. Or search around the forum to knowmore about clicksor.

wow! thanks for the info. I'll try out clicksor.

What do you mean, it has a minimum payout of $50? Does that mean you get paid once your reach $50? (google pays once it reaches $100)

Yea, I remember reading that you can't have ads similar to google's on a page. I think that would mean Yahoo! Publisher's network, and eBay's new context ads.

As above mentioned, I think you are well covered now. Try selling your links on your own. It is pretty profitable. I generated about 40% of my income from textlink sales that I made myself.

Once you reach a payout of $50, clicksor will mail you the cheque or through paypall for your earning. Accoring to what I know.

Google is kind of bad in my opinion. $100 payout is pretty hard to earn, if your site is scrappy and not attractive.

Edit: "And don't put the AD from different program together on the same page =)"

Just to let you guys know that Clicksor pays you when you have a minimum balance of $20 if you are using PayPal which is way better than Google. Google doesn't even send payments through PayPal.
