Do you use 's' or no 's' in your names and domain names (card vs. cards, font vs. fonts).?

Which do you think is better?
Does it matter to the search engines?

From what i have seen it doesn't make much difference.
If you do a search you will often see google highlight the plural word in the SERPS if you have serched the singular, And the other way round.

Keywords in domains aren't really that important as a whole though.

I agree. Either should be fine. I do think search engines will see a difference in using the 's' or not in the domain regardless of the higlighted text in the results, but I dont think a keyword rich domain name is all that important.

I would pick the domain you think people will remember most, though you could always get both and redirect one to the other. You can also do a little research into which one typically would get more searches in a given month and go with that one.

I think the only consideration is the SEO implications of typing out the title of the site on the site itself, in external links, etc. Certain keywords do get more searches in their singular or plural forms; check out this Google Trends comparison for Font vs. Fonts.

Google Trends: font, fonts

The search engine probably won't care about the "s" in the domain itself, but it will notice the "s" or lack thereof in any backlinks where you type out the site title, and it will associate either Font or Fonts with your site based on the text in those links. Since more people are searching Font than Fonts, you'd be better off associating your site with the keyword Font than Fonts. Of course, if you're not going to type out the site title in backlinks, it probably won't matter much.

In any event, I would recommend doing a trends search and factoring the results into your decision--it can't hurt.

Thanks for the tip on Google Trends.

It is important not to completely rely on such services though, for an example, a lot of people are searching for a specific font name + font, and the results being mostly font archives offering that font, and not your general site on fonts.

To use 's' or no 's' is determined by the word itself and how you intend to use that word. I don't think singular or plural would make any difference to the search engines.
