Hello WebMasters -

Hey... do you get any success anymore from email marketing and newsletter sign-ups at your sites? That's what this poll and discussion is about.

Most web marketing gurus recommend that you should capture e-mail addresses at your websites. But, are people becoming tired of receiving emails... even when they sign-up for a newsletter? Do they read them? Are there too many of them?

It seems like more and more webmasters have to bribe people to sign-up with a "free ebook", or other freebies. Maybe most folks just get the freebies, then don't read any of the newsletters.

What do you think? What is your experience.

I look forward to the discussion.

Yours -
Scott

If i have signed up to recieve a newslettter, like i do sometimes, I will read them.
If i get emails and newsletters from people who have got my email address through me signing up for a site or forum then i mark them as spam.

There is nothing wrong with recieving something via email if you have asked for it, But when you havn't asked for it it's irritating.

Hello -

Maybe this is the wrong group to ask, since I think most WebMasters respect and read regular newsletters.

Most emarkting companies report that due to SPAM controls and other filters that the open rate, and the response rate for email newsletters is going down -- way down.

What has been your experience?

Yours - Scott
