has anyone ever tried with success taking an add out in a classified or newspaper ? I'm not talking about online i mean the real newspapers that get delivered. I was reading the stats of some of the bigger newspapers around me in Philadelphia and they reach weekday around 450k and on sunday 600k+ people.

I know it's a bit expensive but instead of throwing money online it seems like a good untapped resource depending on what your trying to get people to visit.

Sites i would consider hitting the newspaper with are a dating website i run and possibly my website hosting site as i have never seen a hosting site advertised in a newspaper and maybe it'd catch some people's eye.

Any comments, suggestions, experiences?

Thanks in advance,
Bill

That is key, if you are going to advertise popops then you will get no response. But if (As you said) advertise something like dating, you will get quite a bit.

I am a supporter of offline marketing. Did you know that some of the big online marketing gurus are now doing more and more offline?

A recent study states that offline marketing for online sales is approx 40% of customers.

So you may be missing out on 40% of your sales if you stick to online only.

To hear a complete story on this for free. nothing to buy, just the facts you can go here.
