I come from a place called Goa in India.
I want to write an article which criticises our websites.
Namely goagovt.nic.in, kalaacademy.org and goatourism.org
my intentions of doing this is to tell people that our sites are really not up to the mark. (and that i can provide quality designs)
The people (even some designers) dont know anything about proper website designing and promotion of websites. (90% of the sites diwn here do not get traffic and/or are of low quality and standards.

What do you think?
will it create a controversy?
will the press accept it?
will it really help me?
can anyone give me an idea or a starting point?

I also want to write articles pertaining to website design, website promotion, web marketing etc.
Will it help in promotion of my business?
will the press pay me?

Be careful when you write critical reviews of sites. It may turn people away from you and your business.

It might be better to start out writing about the components of a good website. After letting people know what should be in a good site, then you could critique one site to help them to determine whether the site is good or not. Once you've educated them on what is good, and they see that what they have is not up to a good standard, then you'll need to demonstrate how you could improve on the site. If they agree with your improvements and design, that may get other jobs for you.

It has a high potential for creating controversy, and that can work for you or against you. How you present yourself and your "proof" of a good site will determine if the controversy will help you.

If you do get to re-do a site and you get agreement that it is the better work, that should help you with other jobs.

Good luck with your endeavor.

Dave

What if I start off with writing articles for the press.
Articles, explaining to people the potential of a website or articles explaining people about SEO and Search Engines.
Would that help?
