Web 2.0 is all about rounded corners, reflective logos and missing 'e's.
Will we still be designing like this in a year? Or will these soft edged
cuddly corners be banished along with blinking text and marquee tags?

The look of 2.0 sites may change, But the idea of having user created content will stay.

Your question is self-answering.

The design is always a fad. Unique functional elements behind it are the future

I like well-designed 2.0 sites such as amazon.com

I think the trend with CSS is envolving nicely, You develope a nice 3D concept that is caughty and allows webmasters to save huge on document size and bandwidth and loading times! Great for websites like mine that have over 3000 pages... The CSS is already loaded and makes surfing my site fast!

Functional and interactive element of a website is the important element of a site. But still quality content is the first to visit to a site
