Hi,

I have been working online for so many years. I could refer about 25,000 new members to the first affiliate program I joined. It took about 2 years to do it. I thought everything I knew to all my referrals.

Although all of them loved to make some money, but most of them didn't even bother to give it a try. Some of them started working seriously but gave up after few weeks or maximum a few months. Only three of them kept on working so far.

Yes, three out of 25,000.
It is disappointing, isn't it?

- Why are most people like that?
- Why can't they keep on working?
- Haven't they learnt it or they have learnt but they are not able to be focused?
- What should you do to change them? (or maybe they can not be changed.)

Please let me and others know about your idea. Have you experienced this problem too?
Are you among those who are hard-worker and focused or you also give up easily?

My guess is that it's because they didn't believe you due to outlandish-sounding claims.

The problem is that, when people see such money making scheme/opportunities, they assume that they can make some extra and large cash without any effort. Contrary to their belief, they find themselves struggling for each cent. The first few dollars are hard to earn, but then the flow starts. It takes a good amount of effort to build a name online, but once thats done, you can use it to your advantage.

In my joined program the result is quite transparent, I know some one can make over than $1000 a month over a years, where as he was only referring 30 people under his downline.

He do it by train the people under his downline, once upon a time he slightly found my email address and offering his secret if I became his downline unfortunately I already a downline from others.

So I think getting the system works is much much better than getting people to join, If you could train at least 1% from your 25,000 members so become 250 qualified downline, in my program it is wow!!

joder: that's exactly what he's talking about. And MysteryLeo is right: most pyramid schemer types don't realize that they're in pyramid schemes until it's too late (if ever). When words like "downline" and "forced matrix" are used or vague, general promises of untold wealth and fortune are made that never materialize, it's a pyramid scheme.

That's the problem with most of the advertising. Everyone promises that you can work a couple of hours a day in your jamas and there will be money in your bank while you sleep! They don't focus on the fact that this is a business and as such it takes time, persistence and consistence to get it going! No wonder 95% of the people who start give up. Your percentages are amazing!

Is there any such thing as a "legitimate affiliate program"? BTW - has this thread been resurrected from the dead or what?

Hi All,

I believe that the reason 99% of online business's fail is because the sites promise you a lot of money and then when you get into, you first find out that you really have to work, and then you find out you will be selling the same stuff that was sold to you to make money...I joined f...rex and can't tell you enough what a waste of time and money- first, I never got my refund, I sent them several emails requesting help, and received only one...probably from the person I joined under. Then I felt horrible that in order to make money I had to find another 'goofball' to join. I believe a home based business can be successful if you believe in the product you are selling or recommending people. The make 1000 a day can come true, but only with hard work, a belief in the product, a great product(s), great customer service and mentorship. The rest are quick schemes...

Adam has hit the nail on the head

The problem is amazing if you think about it.

Affiliate marketers promise that people can get rich without working. Then they are surprised that people don't work.
Uhm, duh!!!

Crap, I can't believe I just posted to a thread this old, somebody shoot me

It is because of people and people only. Many people do not have the ability to choose the right program. This will lead the people to fall in the pit. And leads the people to quit.

I read a statistic recently that said 95 percent of the people that sign up for income opportunities never do anything. I think that's probably the heart of it, but also think that there's this overall feeling that you can sign up, slap a link somewhere - -any where -- and the money will roll in.

It takes work ,time and effort, there's just no getting around this and if some of these "get rich quick" schemes would admit that in their pitch, less people would get roped in.

Another thought on this that I have is that a lot of people just don't fully grasp all the ins-and-outs of internet marketing and affiliate marketing and find themselves over-whelmed; and consequently, just give up. It's quite a learning process and there's so much trial and error involved, it can be daunting!

Hi there

Personally i cant stand affiliate programs for a number of reasons

1) We have to do work for you, while u dont pay anything to us for our hard work !

If i said to somone will you please work for me, but your not going to get paid any basic wage, you will only get a percentage of what you make, you would tell me to stick the job, so why do affialtes assume im going to work for them for just a simple percentage, at least with PPC you get a payment when somone visits the link.

2) They usually give u a stats page, which i dont trust !

3) Give you rediculous tracking urls !

Affilates need to wake up its a lazy way to get somone to work for you and only really benefits the affililate i want somthing that works for me as well !!

I do admit there are a few good affiliates out there but they are few and far between.

As for the original post, if you actually gave somthing to the people who signed up to ur affilate, it would make your deal seem so much better, other than that ur just another waste of time affliate that people have seen so many times before !

Woc

Well, usearchme, you're certainly entitled to your feelings and I understand them to a degree, but I do think you're being way too hard on affiliate programs.

A merchant sticks their neck out when they allow an affiliate to sign on to their program, also. They don't know if that affiliate is going to go spam-crazy or place their links on an unacceptable site, etc. They take a risk and an affiliate takes a risk. Put a good merchant and a good publisher together however, and you can have a pretty good and profitable relationship. I speak from personal experience -- and yes, I've dealt with bad one's, too and often wondered just how honest some have been/are, but as in all things, one has to weed out the bad and give the good all they've got.

It can work, if you work it right!

So true... once some of your sites have gained some credit and doing well, you can network, cross-promote and share the wealth with newly created projects.
