Selling website submission services, really worth?

Hi,

I would like to know if it's worth to create a website submission software online, a paid one.

This tool would send your site to over 1 500 search engines. How much should I ask for it? Is this really a worth of selling? I mean selling of this service.

You're overcharging if you offer the service for free.

Search engine submission does not, does not, does not work. The important SEs will find sites via crawling and hyperlinks, and the ones that require submission are usually Tier 512 search engines that don't generate any real traffic and a bunch of spam emails anyway.

So it's not worth it to you, and it's not worth it to the rest of us.

It might be worth doing as a web based service, then you could
monetise the site with ads, or upsell related digital products that
webmasters might like.

I agree with Adam though.. there's not really a market for a paid
tool.

Good advice, all around. Only the gullible and uninformed would pay for a service like this, or even take the time to use it for free. The ones that learn later they tossed their cash in the fireplace aren't likely to be thrilled. So your target audience would be uninformed webmasters with disposable income who don't hold a grudge...

But if you can code this, that makes your programming skills above average. You could probably spend less time making scripts and services that would probably appeal to a larger audience. Somebody in the general forum here is looking for a php script to pick a couple of photos at random and display them. Somebody in one of the coding forums was complaining about a joke-serving script they paid for, and couldn't customize.

Bizarre as it sounds, there's a huge demand for trivial programming that takes 20 minutes. You could either support this with advertising, charge for the scripts, whatever. Probably want to make a freebee or two; my WebMaestro software is free, and draws a good amount of traffic. The hope is people stick around and look at other pages from there.

Thanks for the comments.

I decided not to finish my project and to start a new project that interests a lot more people. I decided to start coding a cool tutorial system.

Nice software btw, is it written in C++?
