Hi there. We all know how competitive the web hosting market is. Do any of you guys have any suggestions on how to market a web hosting site? Were to advertise(Forums,web design sites), how to advertise (Banners,text links,blog posts ect..)

Any ideas? Also any suggestions on what to do to get traffic to a web hosting site or anything that would get the popularity up,get more people talking about it ect..

Any help is appreciated

Adwords is probably your best bet, Second would be to have a competitive referral program.

Offer something almost none of the rest of the hosts out there offer: decent customer service. If you can do that, and you get a few of the right customers, you won't have to spend a dime on advertising.

try to find local customers by talking face to face. then if they satisfy with your service, then they might help you to find new customers more and more and more....

rather, if you have a good investment amount, give as much as ads on any site, it would help also.

Gotta have some comic relief, right? Anyone who's brainy all the time is a bore.

I thought you really liked a certain, shall we say recreational plant? But this makes sense too.

Then why not campaign on this? In all seriousness, it explains your name in a way that's friendly to non-hippies, and it's something most people will respect.

In California, the main energy company PG&E ( Pacific Gas and Electric ) is starting to campaign for energy regulation in regards to global warming. No poopy. These are the last people you would EVER expect to want to add regulation to their own industry, but global climate change is such a serious problem that it's necessary. ( And they know regulations now will be less strict than regulations later. ) The point is everybody cares about the environment, at least since Katrina and then Rita.

You have an ace up your sleeve. Use it.

Yeah, Greenlush is a plant, also lush is an old linux language and we run 90% on linux and global warming melts the ice caps in the antarctic and penguins die.. So we have a very meaningful name and goal not just to supply top quality web hosting but also to help the penguins and plants that help us run (As... Plants need oxygen to live and if the oxygen is polluted then they also die)
