I have impression that Forums are a great way to establish yourself and your product to many eager sets of eyes.

This forum has got to be one of the best forums I have been on. I frequently submitted my links here either in discussion or in promotion area if there available.

Seems it quite work for me as far as I monitored I have conclusion that I got sufficient feedback coming from this forum. Wether the traffics give me results or not, there is another case, cause it depend so much on the prospective of the link itself not to the forum.

So how is going on with yourself, do you frequently submit link or just partcipate in discussion only?

If so, then how is the traffic result you have got, sufficient or nothing?

I just participate in discussion and get some traffic (almost negligible) but have never looked into that issue.

Discussion. "Submitting a link" as you call it is nothing more than a thinly veiled link drop.

If I place a link in a post, it's relevant to that post and/or provides an example or piece of information appropriate to that situation.

I come here to learn. It's important to know what kinds of things not to do with a site ( all of them aren't obvious; I used to worry about hidden navigation links with mouseovers that show them, and learned that "display:none;" isn't a red flag by itself ). And it's also important to know what the standard good ideas are, what the search bots like, and so on. I don't want to design my site for them, but when I can't decide between two ideas, seo makes a good tie breaker. Plus, I want to share what I can to give something back for all the advice people give me.

Sometimes I "drop a link," but most of them are to sites I have nothing to do with. Like FireBug, a FireFox add-in for web developers. Or MIT's online curriculum. Really that has to do with the question people are asking.

This isn't a place to "submit links" as you put it.

I only use this forum and other forums to learn new stuff and also to provide others with valuable information that they want at that time. I don't think forums are the post to self post your own sites links.
