My first post!
I just thought that it was worth mentioning in this forum what seems to be a quite often overlooked method for driving traffic to your website is by creating a google gadget, a directory of which you'll find here : http://www.google.co.uk/ig/directory
I've found that providing alternative methods for people to access my website, such as via a gadget (a toolbar is another good example of an alternative access method) provides a good amount of well targeted traffic.
Just my thoughts that I thought were worth spreading!

Thanks for the thoughts philnet. We have used that before without success but have found that different things work for different people. Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the info . I think Google Gadget are application that work on Google homepage or any on the page.
They can range from simple HTML to complex applications, and can be a calendar, a weather globe, a media player, or anything else you can dream up. If you want to know more you will find it here:

Sounds very interesting. I have never noticed this on Google. Is it easy to make a gadget as I have loads of games and I noticed that there seems to be quite a few game type gadgets within Google Gadgets.

Sounds interesting to me. Yes, this may get you traffic, but not for all kinds of websites. Like bt69 said, different things work for different people. Thank you anyway for sharing!
