Hi, i need some help advertising my web site

I recently started a Technology Community running VB3 at www.g-trix.com and i need some help on ways i can promote the forums to get members. What methods have other forum owners used? What are the free and paid methods?

just having a link in your sig helps out... and being active w/ that link in your sig on other high traffic forums

you can do the good ol' link swap

you can buy adspace on other peoples sites (i have some cheap space for sale, pm me if interested)

you can put a lil money into adwords and see if that works

If you own a server or have webspace to spare, you can try offering free webhosting for members who contribute to your forum. That's what we do to moderate success.

You can also go to this thread which is about forum promotion. There's lots of opinions and help there.

I was thinking about that idea, it might help and I will try putting the link in my sig on other forums too.
