I checked my traffic stats for my link directory < deleted > and i found out that the traffic exchanges don't really do that much. Most of my traffic comes from the 40+ forums i've joined and have a signature on. Look at my traffic stats for the last 18days for proof of how many people visit my site:

t averages out to be 102.78 visitors per day

I am still joining forums as we speak and using my signature to advertise my link directory.

my advice would be to do what i'm doing because it works.

Obviously the spammage has not worked as all the links have been deleted. We all already know that signatures work for traffic in forums or we would probably not have them on your messages. Hmmmm seems like common sense to me.

Man linnk sigs are a anathema around here! no wonder all the negative discussion bout it.

im glad i didnt get banned bringin up sig linking, but i think it brought some good elements to te discussuion

well may that guy banneb but signatures work cause it makes automatic incoming links.

Rather than automatic incoming links, I think signatures work best for direct traffic rather than seo benefits. It does help your SEO, but the main advantage is the traffic that directly comes from it.
