Using Cpanel and my Awstats havne't changed even though when I go to "latest visitors" in my cpanel, it shows me all the unique visitors that aren't showing up in Awstats.

Awstats has had at least 10 hours to adjust and still hasn't reflected the actual web hits.

Do most hosting companies provide options to install other software instead of Awstats in Cpanel?

You can manually update the awstats by clicking the update button at the top

Awstats is a log analyser NOT a live stats package.
Most hosts that provide it have it set to update every 24 hours, normally at 00:00 GMT when the server logs roll over and are closed and recreated.

Awstats ( or IIS logs ) are more accurate, but Google Analytics is amazing in the depth of information it provides, and the way it shows you interconnections.

Meditang may be right, there is a update link in top of awstats but if you do not have the link then your system administrator has disabled it.

Email them, they'd sort it

That's the best decission you have made to go with Analytics. Awstats is inaccurate and shows you much more pageviews than what you are actually receiving.

Also, you can change how often the Awstats updates as I think it is done via cron or something.
