Hey guys

I have recently realised that so much of my traffic and backlinks come from Digg, StumbleUpon, Del.icio.us, and the other bookmarking sites. To me it really is the best ways to market a website for free, and I was wondering what other people thought of them?

I think it's a good concept, but will eventually get ruined by the "exchangers". The whole concept is to share bookmarks for sites that deserve it...organically. By exchanging, that creates bias and artificial inflation of popularity.

I see where you're coming from, but surely even if exchanging is happening, then the deserved sites are getting the best of both worlds and theres still a little balance? It just generates more traffic for webmasters

Yeah, it generates more traffic for webmasters, but other than pushing your odometer, what does that actually accomplish?

The best sources of traffic, for me anyway, are the ones that take the least amount of effort. Ideally none. Meaning if somebody wants to Stumble one of my photos, I'd be thrilled, but I'd rather spend my energy going in other directions with regard to marketing. On the other hand, I don't sell prints, links, or advertising, my site only exists to build up name recognition. So even the social media referrals that aren't that interested might carry a small benefit, whereas if I wanted the traffic to make money from, I've heard Digg users are the most ad-blind group around.

Bookmarking has not helped me much in getting more traffic.

As per my analytics, I only get traffic from high PR bookmarking sites only, other sites only provide me backlinks nothing else

That's probably because it's from other PR chasing ..........

Actually I searched in the web for the social bookmarking websites.Most of the sites are searched and submitted my website.But if I want the more number of social bookmarking and social networking websites how can I get?Could anyone tell me?

I couldn't understand.

Traffic comes from your quality of content and from your ideas.

Suppose you are contributing to any forums then you can get targeted visitors to your site as visitors already know about your quality and they think that the same quality can be found on your web site as well.

Yes it should not be the way like doing favors to one another, must be genuine fan following, thats the purpose of bookmarking, to bookmark somethin you like, however people do usually end up in such practices in the beginning unless they are discouraged from doing it.
