I'm looking for someone (or a couple people) who would be willing to donate a little time to help me 1 on 1 with my website. I have the site up, I'm adding new content every day. I just need some help from someone who is experienced and successful with the rest of the job (submitting the site, gaining traffic, etc). If you would be willing to help me, please send me a PM. Thanks!

I couldn't tell from your post whether the help you want is in the form of advice, or in the form of someone actually doing the work. If it's the former, you could post any questions/problems you have in the seo forum. You'll find we're a helpful bunch, most of the time

I'm wanting advice that would be specific to my site. I don't have any "questions" other than how to get traffic and there is tons of info on that, I am just looking for someone who could look over my site, tell me if there is anything that they think I should do/change with my site and then tell me how they would go about promoting it (more specfic than just put your link on directories).. I'm kinda looking for someone who might be willing to mentor me.

Chris have you applied some of that basic info? Can you offer some reason why of all the people who would like help gaining traffic to their site someone you should choose you to mentor?

I ask because most people who choose to mentor someone do so because they see something in that person that makes them want to help. As I'm typing this I see you've made 3 posts here, 2 of which are in this thread where you're asking for someone else to give up their time to tell you exactly what you should do to build traffic to your site.

There are mentors all over the web. They give away their advice freely on blogs and in forums. True most of that advice won't be specific to your site, but if you can't take the advice and apply it to your own situation then in all likelihood giving you advice specific to your site isn't going to help you either.

I realize I don't know you and you may very well be an honest person who has put in some work and is looking for more, but this thread comes across as though you don't really want to put in the time and want someone else to tell you what to do.

The advice you want is expensive. There's a reason why most of the advice you see online is basic. It takes a lot more time to tailor that advice for a specific site. You might find someone willing to spend that time, but chances are you're going to need to give them a reason why they should.

Instead of dismissing all the general advice do what you can to apply it to your site and your business. Prove to people that you are willing to put in the work first. If you ask specific questions here and at other forums people will help you with specific answers, but if you won't take the time to ask a specific question why should someone spend their time giving you a specific answer.

Sorry if I'm coming across harshly, but before asking people for free advice try spending some time getting to know them. My response to you would have been much different if you'd been posting here for a longer time and had more than 3 posts.

Taking all of the general advice that's available and figuring out how to tailor it to your site is a really good education.

What separates your site from the rest? Why is it the usual to-do list doesn't apply? If you can answer those two questions, that should point you in the right direction.

Very nicely put VanGogh. Good gentle advice for someone new to SEO.

Now..down to business. I have more than 3 posts, will you SEO a couple of sites free for me? I'm really exhausted lately and want to take a few days off.

Took me a few minutes to come up with that, but it was worth the time.

I would say just keep working in your site and if you cross with a specific question try to find a solution yourself, if not there is nothing wrong from asking question to learn, but not to ask people to do the job for you. Keep reading in this forum there are great information here and see what people are doing. There are also some other site that you can watch i.e. http://forums.seochat.com/ , & http://www.webmasterworld.com/home.htm. Good luck
