Ok, so there are lots of ways to market over the internet. You guys have them all covered and then some!

Still, there are ways to advertise on the street. I find it very effective for my work.

I own and operate a Boxing News website. We're a small fish in a pond absolutely loaded with more small fish. One problem for us was that we needed name recognition amongst boxers. We're based out of New York, and so we needed the many New York fighters to know who we are.

What I did was get sheets with big labels and printed out a few hundered. The cheaper the labels the better. I went around New York City and slapped the stickers around every gym. Soon afterwards, many fighters knew who we were.

I recieved more hits through this method, but nothing to write home about. We were putting together other marketing initiatives as well, so it is tough to keep track of that period.

If you have a perfume website, go around and slap some around perfume stores. If you have a health and fitness website, go to gyms and fast food joints. If you sell toys from your website, slap some around daycares, toystores, and supermarkets.

REMEMBER: KNOW YOUR LAWS!!! I'M IN NEW YORK AND WAS CAPABLE OF DOING THIS ON STREETLAMPS AND THINGS OF THAT NATURE. DO NOT PUT THEM UP ON PRIVATE PROPERTY!!! RESEARCH WETHER OR NOT YOU ARE ALLOWED TO DO THIS.

That's an interesting idea -- thanks for sharing. I have another one I do -- not sure how much traffic it generates, but it's awfully inexpensive and just another way to "spread the word".

I make up little address label type stickers, only no address -- just a short little promo with my web site URL and I stick one on every envelope I mail out. They make great envelope "sealers" across the back or sometimes I'll place one in the lower left corner. I make my own "stickies" on my printer so I can make them as I need them.

Thanks for the information, This is a great place to test out new ideas. In fact, I could get some real nuggets here that I'm going to use right away. This certainly makes a good point.
