What do you think about creating a subsite for a single product? It wouldn't look like the main site, and would only loop back to the main site when you purchase (or maybe I should keep it the same look through the whole order process?)

When I go to the software section from the main website, how should it go about directing to the dedicated website? I don't think it's just a great idea to just redirect them - mainly because it looks different...

So, what do you think? What's your input?

Depends on the logic. 99.9% of the time, it's not a good idea.

Is the subsite not related to the main site? Is it selling something not featured on the main site? If the answer to either question is no, don't bother...one larger site will generally outperform two smaller ones.

Imagine you would have to promote two websites. I am not sure how relevant it will look but I am sure that you would rather invest your time and money into just one website and marketing campaign.
