Help with some brushes?

I recently downloaded some brushes onto my computer and added them to my Paint Shop Pro. They were working fine, but then started getting a little screwy.

First, this happened:
I'd click to make the pattern appear and it would be completely flipped or reversed. I don't think I changed anything or pressed anything...but everythings appearing upside down or wrong...not like the outline that appears before you click.
It's really annoying and I'm not sure how to fix it.

Outline of stamp is right way up

But when I click down, its upside down like this. :/

I closed the progrma, reopened it, and this problem stopped. But I don't know why it happened at all.

But then I tried to do the brushes again and they aren't letting me just click once and have the pattern appear. I have to drag it across the image, which creates several in a row, kinda smeared together. I want to only have it appear once when I click so it's like a stamp almost.

Anyone know if there's a setting I have to change or something?
Thank you.

Did you import the Brushes or copy & paste them into the Brushes folder.
Brushes need to be imported to work properly.
File>Import>Custom Brush.
If you copy & paste them, they won't work properly.

Or:
Maybe you rotated them and that's why they're upside down.

Try using the brush as a stamp (dab instead of drag for a sharp outline).
